What’s on in and around Conwy 2017

North Wales is home to many events and shows throughout 2017. You’ll find sporting events to world renowned music artist, 2017 sees a visit from Bryan Adams and the most successful British Girl group since the Spice Girls; Little Mix. There is something on most weekends, taking place along the coast with many reflecting the culture of the region.

During the early months of the year, you’ll discover some superb performances at North Wales’ theatres, including comic and musical performances.

Easter brings with it the reopening of many attractions, each providing a new events program.

As Summer approaches the calender becomes very busyas events come through thick and fast, half marathons, boat shows and classic car trails all take place in North Wales. August sees air shows take over the skies of Llandudno and Rhyl – providing some spectacular sights.

Below provides an insight into some of the events taking place, keep an eye out for further updates throughout the year.

Take pART – 14/15 Jan – Llandudno

One of many events taking place at Venue Cymru throughout 2017, this is a weekend event of fabulous arts and literature activities. Take part in one of the many workshops enjoy the performances and drop-in sessions.

Wales U20 V England U20 – 10t Feb – Colwyn Bay

That time of year again, 6 nations championship. One of the most popular sporting events in the UK and especially Wales. Colwyn Bay welcomes the under 20’s team yet again at the much improved Eirias Park stadium. A great event to watch the latest Rugby talent that Wales has to offer, the national first team for the coming years, the next generation of World Cup Winners possibly???

Cambrian Rally – 11 Feb – Llandudno

One of the premier motorsports events in Wales, the Cambrian Rally attracts around 150 crew members for an exhilarating day of competition in and around the stunning Welsh forests made famous in the 1980’s Lombard RAC.
Llandudno promenade provides a great spot for all the teams to line up and display their vehicles and team members and allow questions and photos for the general public, a true spectacle for all, not just motorsports fans.

Snooker Players Championships – 06-12 March – Llandudno

Over the past few years, Venue Cymru has proven to be a popular venue for professional snooker tournaments. The Ladbrokes Players Championship is coming to Llandudno for the first time. Contested by the top 16 players from the season’s money list, it’s sure to attract many visitors who want to see action from the best players in World Snooker.

Llandudno Transport Festival and Victorian Extravaganza – 29 Apr – 01 May – Llandudno

Probably the most popular event in the annual events calendar for North Wales, the transport festival and Victorian extravaganza sees thousands of visitors flock to Llandudno over the bank holiday weekend. From fairground rides to donkey rides and vintage fashion to vintage cars, this jam packed weekend has something for all the family.

Snowdonia Half Marathon – 21 May – Snowdonia

Conwy Pirate Weekend – 27-29 May -Conwy

As we enter the summer months, Conwy Marina is host to the annual All Wales Boat Show. This years event makes its 3rd appearance at Conwy Marina.

The event is now in its 5th year and is a great festival for all water borne activities from paddle boarding to sailing. There will be a large range of exhibitors and demonstrations throughout the 3 day event.

The All Wales Boat Show 2017 – Friday 9 June to Sunday 11 June – Conwy Marina

Network Yacht Brokers Conwy will be on hand to answer any marine related questions you may have. Located in the heart of the show, our office will be open for the duration. The land-based show will be free to All Wales Boat Show visitors and boating enthusiasts can purchase pontoon tickets to gain access to the boats on display (restricted access).
