Looking over the Prestige 550, its easy to see what the designer had intended from the outset. The creation of a Motor Yacht with oversized features that fit within the skin of a 55 footer. Wide side decks, a very well sheltered sun deck leading to a vast cockpit shows off just how much space there is on a Prestige 550. An extra large Flybridge is the key strength, it sets the Prestige 550 apart from the rest of the pack. The Flybridge area can probably be best described as XXL. You will find a well proportioned dual helm seating on the flybridge, a feature not available on all motor yachts of this size. Moving down from the generous flybridge into the main living pace, it will become clear that a conventional space is no more. A complete re-invention of the usable living space has taken place. Key to the thought process of design was to keep things on one level it was thought to make perfect sense. The designers have pulled out all the stops to achieve this goal, we think you will love the results.
The owners main cabin is huge. Access to this luxury space is via a private stairway,a large picture window bathes the cabin in light. The bath room in the owners cabin is very impressive having an adjoining door the the heads compartment makes perfect sense. the Prestige 550 has all the comforts of a 60 footer.
The professional helm station affords excellent visibility for the helms person. Standing in the centre of this beautifully apportioned motor Yacht it difficult to understand why designers have left it so long before introducing the concept of light into their designs. Perhaps a factor that has held back designers for many years is the need to fit bulky supports to hold up the heavily built flybridge. Jeanneau have developed a new manufacturing process called Prisma injection moulding. This has enabled designers to slim down the width of supports, introduce much more detail and given them additional flexibility in the creation of a well found Motor Yacht. Prisma moulding creates structures that are stronger, lighter and much more detailed than a traditionally laid up component. This is the key to the success of the Jeanneau design team.
