Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 519
Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 519 Yacht
Since her introduction to the Sun Odyssey range in September 2016, the 519 is based on a design from the pen of Phillippe Briand.
As the flagship to the range, she offers flexibility that is rarely seen in production boats of this size, the 519 has a long waterline, hard chine hull, safe and spacious deck layout, flush deck hatches, integrated running rigging and a powerful high aspect rig, this model is hard to beat. Following on from the smaller models in the range, she offers a completely new sail plan for increased performance. Available in various layouts and with a selection of different sail plans to choose from.
A light, spacious and luxurious interior using solid woods, matt varnish and light fabrics delivers a contemporary and extremely comfortable living space. Jeanneau have designed the interior with four distinct zones in mind allowing the interior space to flow naturally. Available in a number of layout versions, which combined with choices in floorboards and fabrics, gives plenty of opportunity for individuality.
Standing at the stern of the Jeanneau 519 one can see the design pattern of the hull. She is intended to be a fast stable cruiser and has a high stern reflex running up from the keel area, thus giving her great stability in a rough sea. Aided by the hard chine running along the aft side of the hull to about midships. Thanks to this innovative desighn interior volume is increased and she has become a stiffer yacht to sail to wind, also having a great down wind performance thanks to the volume of her aft proportions, creating fantastic buoyancy..
Up front Jeanneau have introduced an extended bow sprit option. This bow sprit is supported by a stainless steel bar fixed to the lower bow section. This fortified bow sprit enables the 519 the carry either a code one genoa on the inner support ring or a full size spinnaker on the forward strong ring. The furling system can carry most headsail options, thus giving the skipper great choice when selecting a sail configurations.
another key feature of the Jeanneau 519 is the fold down aft swim platform. With the platform in the down position great access to the water is achieved as never before on a yacht of this size. Storage across the aft cockpit is generous, giving plenty of room for life raft, fenders and warps. Further storage is available in the full size storage deck locker situated just aft of the furling headsail. This locker has ladder access and is huge.
A twin hem station with navigation controls repeated at each station would be a standard format for this yacht. All lines led aft to optional electric rewind wishes would make sailing her a dream and very easy for a skipper and mate, although the copout could virtually cater for any number of desired crew.
several layout options are available on the Jeanneau 519, from the four cabin four head version best suited to the charter market, to the two cabin owners version. some customisation is available on this yacht so please talk to us about your specific needs. If Jeanneau can make your ideas work in the space they will.
