Prisma Injection Moulding by Jeanneau saving the planet.
Invented by Jeanneau Prisma moulding has revolutionised boat building since 2007. Introduced during the manufacture of small Motor Boats and Yachts, Jeanneau very quickly developed the technique of Prisma moulding Yacht and Boat decks on bigger boats.
Huge commercial advantages are achieved using this manufacturing process. A Prisma Moulded Boat or Yacht deck can contain much more detail than a conventionally laid up deck. Prisma Moulded Decks are also stronger and up to 70% lighter than a conventional deck. The weight saving helps with stability on Motor Boats it also help Yachts point to windward.
Prisma moulding has a huge environmental advantage against traditional GRP hull manufacture. A sealed injection Prisma mould keeps virtually all the harmful vapour within the GRP during manufacture. GRP factory workers no longer need to wear breathing apparatus in a moulding workshop. Gone are the days when the vapour from creating a hull could literally knock you off your feet as a person entered a GRP workshop. That has to be good for the environment! Next time you look over a new Motorboat or Yacht ask about its construction.
