Merry Fisher 895
Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895 – Feels bigger than her class.
Introduced in 2012, the Merry Fisher 895 looks at first glance to follow a similar hull design as the NC (New Concept) Class. She certainly has similar lines to the award winning NC 9.
You will be forgiven for making the mistake, but this Merry Fisher is not a £150,000 boat. In fact you can get it for much less than that, you could be enjoying a boat that is arguably as innovative as the NC 9 .
Designed for comfort, the 895 combines innovative interior design solutions never before seen on a boat of 8 metres. Created for fuel-efficient cruising with twin outboard engines, a modular cockpit gives the option to relax in the sun with the table in the sun bed position, or perhaps sit with friends and enjoy a glass of fine wine after a day’s boating?
Removing the table completely gives a good open area for fishing and you will feel secure whatever the weather as the high sides of the cockpit give ample protection in almost all weather conditions.
Moving inside through the sliding cabin door you will find here is very little loss of light in the main saloon. Large panoramic windows let the light flood in. Visibility is excellent from the helm position; sliding wheelhouse hatches give additional ventilation when the weather permits. A sliding door by the helm allows access to the side companion way.
An extra wide companion way makes for safe and easy access to the large sun deck and bow area. Aft of the helm position there is a workable galley opposite the convertible saloon table. The saloon table converts easily into a good size double bed. One more twist to the seating in the saloon is that the co-pilots seat can either face forwards or flip to face the dining table.
A Merry Fisher 895 has an extra wide companionway.
A key feature of the 895 is the extra wide companionway to the starboard side. The width is gained by moving the cockpit a few centimetres from dead centre. This clever but simple innovation gives a good side to moor allowing ease of access. The limited loss on the port side is virtually unnoticeable.
Sleeping has never been more comfortable on an 8 metre boat. An owner’s cabin has an island berth that converts into night mode which increases the length to 2m, normally ample for a main cabin. In addition to this, there is standing room in front of the bed giving a great feeling of space in the cabin. The Merry Fisher 895 also has a marine toilet and shower cubical.
A separate double cabin is located amidships. Hot and cold pressurised water system with a built in a 45 ltrs hot water tanks is also a standard feature. The 895 features two separate cabins, wide glass surfaces and surprising ease of movement on board for enhanced cruising pleasure. Innovative and attractive, the new Merry Fisher 895 is a great cruiser fisher.
