Remarks: Survey carried out on vessel. Of the findings everything that was recommended to be done has been done, this includes: Rudder removed, splits and the tangs checked. Over and above the requirement. The rudder has been sheathed in fibreglass to protect it further. This all cost £700+ and was carried out by TLC Yacht repair of Conwy. The P Bracket had some pitting caused by galvanic corrosion. This had resulted because the bonding wire between it and the anode had been broken. This was fixed, and the P bracket cleaned, checked, primed and antifouled to avoid further corrosion. All anodes replaced including new prop shaft anode being added (2006) RCD added to electrical system Rather than fix the gooseneck fitting, a complete new more robust gooseneck fitting added at a cost of £100 by TJ Rigging of Conwy. The engine has been serviced and the tappet clearances altered to make the engine run smoother. The engine vibration noted by the Surveyor was also noted by the Engineers servicing the engine. Engine mounts changed at a cost of £800. Boat taken out of the water and the shaft removed and checked. A very small mis alignment was found, so a new shaft made up at a cost of £350. Also a misalignment was found in the gear box clamp was found and re-machined. This cost over £1600 to rectify, but is perfect now. All the other mentioned small defects were rectified to an appropriate standard. |
