Remarks: Pitch pine on sawn oak frames. Built for Cmdr Brian Bell (RN) in 1960 by Maurice Griffiths, who was editor of 'Yachting Monthly' for 30 years, was a prolific boat designer. The Tidewater 30 was designed and built in 1960 and is illustrated in his book 'Maurice Griffith Sixty Years as a Yacht Designer'. Blue Teal was built to this design in 1960 by C.H Lavis & Son of Exmouth. Her history is documented, starting with a photograph of her launch as well a full record (and costing) of her major 2 year refit/rebuild completed in 2002. All of the original fittings have been retained with the exception of a new Yanmar 27hp diesel engine, new Taylors kerosene cooker and new Dickinson diesel cabin heater. Though sound Blue Teal is currently in need of re-varnishing. At the asking price the engine will be professionally serviced as part of the sale.
